2020 A level and vocational exam results
Brigshaw is celebrating the hard work and tremendous achievements of the class of 2020 in these extraordinary times. Students have shown resilience and determination over their seven years at Brigshaw High School and staff were delighted to share in today’s celebrations. We are incredibly proud of all of our students and know that they have bright futures ahead of them.
This year over 99% of our students who applied to University have been successful; the vast majority to their first choice. Students will study maths, geography, history, sport, nursing, midwifery, policing, psychology, primary education, journalism, chemistry, computer science, social work, photography, criminology, English and Law at the following universities: St. Andrews, Durham, Bristol, Lancaster, Leeds, Manchester, Hull, Edge Hill, Salford, UCL, York, Northumbria and the Sorbonne in Paris!
Whilst celebrating the many successes we do have concerns over the methodology used by the exam boards which has caused some unfair anomalies for certain students’ results. We continue to support these students and will do everything we possibly can to ensure that students are able to proceed to their desired destination.
Many students have also secured prestigious apprenticeships, management schemes and jobs in the following fields: finance, science, youth work, education, police, media, NHS, administration, business, retail, accountancy, media and IT. Some students are also planning exciting gap years.
We look forward to celebrating together with all of our students when guidelines allow us to do so and hearing of their amazing experiences in the world of work and Higher Education.
