2020 GCSE and vocational exam results

Brigshaw is celebrating the hard work and tremendous achievements of the class of 2020 in these extraordinary times.  Students have shown resilience and determination over their five years at Brigshaw High School and staff were delighted to share in today’s celebrations.  We are incredibly proud of all of our students.

Almost every student’s results enable them to access their chosen pathway with over two thirds studying Level 3 courses in our own Sixth Form.  This means we have the exciting prospect of our largest Sixth Form ever.   The school is proud of its inclusive curriculum with nearly half of all students entered for the EBACC suite of subjects and Lifeskills students securing qualifications in functional skills.

Students have also secured prestigious apprenticeships and college places in the following fields: mechanics, hair and beauty, plumbing, electrical installation, brick laying, animal care, cabin crew, engineering, games design, hospitality, scaffolding, RAF, quantity surveying, joinery and agriculture.

Whilst celebrating the many successes we do have concerns over the lack of national standardisation.

We are particularly celebrating the progress and achievements of some of our most disadvantaged students when nationally gaps are increasing.  Staff, students and their families have worked tirelessly to secure well above average results with nearly half passing both maths and English – bright futures await them!

We look forward to celebrating further together with all of our students when guidelines allow us to do so.
