You are here: About Us » Our Awards
We’re proud to have received a number of prestigious awards in recognition of our whole school community's commitment, dedication and achievements.
For example, we received the Leeds FairTrade School Mark in recognition of our outstanding support of the FairTrade campaigns. Our pupils worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the issues surrounding FairTrade. They supported campaigns such as “Make FairTrade your habit” and “Change Today, Choose FairTrade” and they created a stunning portfolio of their work.
Due to their enthusiasm for the campaign, our pupils were invited to design the award logo for Leeds. We were thrilled when we received the Leeds FairTrade School Mark in recognition of the amazing contribution our pupils and staff had made.
Brigshaw High School has been accredited by the Duke of Edinburgh organisation to be a Directly Licensed Centre. This means that we are able to run our own DofE programme offering training and running expeditions at all 3 levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold, from Y10 upwards. Rob Barker is our Centre Manager and is assisted by many of our teaching and support staff, in a voluntary capacity, to give as many pupils as possible the opportunity to take part in this highly regarded and immensely rewarding activity.
