You will build upon your knowledge gained from GCSE through a mainly practical approach. You will work on performance projects as well as develop your composing skills. You will look at roles within the music industry and gain an understanding of how to stage live events. There are a variety of units available that will be tailored by staff to suit the students on the course.
How will I learn?
By improving your rehearsal technique as a soloist and group member, by performing in an ensemble and as a soloist, by undertaking projects tailored to a music industry context, by using music technology to improve your composing skills, by taking part in practical workshops developing instrumental and vocal technique, trips – You will take part in open mic nights at local events, visit a recording studio, interview industry professionals from event management/promotion companies.
The end result will be a Level 3 qualification equivalent to 1 A level.
